Kelsey Alexis Schlein

Kelsey Alexis Schlein is a 17 year old Junior at Fluvanna County High School. She is a Blue Ridge Virtual Governors' school student, Junior Class Treasurer, and a Key Club, as well as a Beta club member. She is a Varsity member of her school's Cross Country team, the Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field teams, and the Fluco Swim and Dive team. She is also a member of the WAHOO Dive club in Charlottesville. For the past two years she has served as a student representative on the Fluvanna County Parks and Recreation Board.

Kelsey's platform is "Invest in a Healthy Future" and, as the 2012 Dogwood Queen, she has participated in community walks and 5K and 10K races in support of a variety of causes to promote a healthier future. She has also appeared in multiple parades in various counties as the Dogwood Queen, helped with several area pageants, has made appearances in retired and assisted living homes, and has participated in other community events.

Kelsey supports a healthier future because of her strong love for sports and athletics that she developed at a young age. She believes it is important for people at every age to find passion in something they love which in turn benefits their health and well being as well as their community.

Kelsey is the daughter of Uffe and Jill Schlein of Palmyra, Va.
